Overview of Nabanna Scholarship 2024

The Hon’ble Chief Minister of West Bengal, Shri Mamata Banerjee, has introduced the Nabanna Scholarship Scheme., The main focus of this scholarship is to help and support students from economically weaker sections of society. This Scholarship, part of the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, is available to students pursuing postgraduate courses starting from Class 10. It’s known as the Uttarkanya Scholarship in the North Bengal region, whereas in some parts of  South Bengal, it is famous as the Nabanna Scholarship. Selected students will receive a scholarship of Rs 10,000 per year to cover their academic expenses.

Objective of Nabanna Scholarship 2024

The Nabanna Scholarship 2024 aims to support bright students in West Bengal who might be struggling to continue their education due to financial crisis. This scholarship provides students up to INR 10,000 annually, supporting them in their studies without difficulty.

Eligibility Courses

Under Nabanna Scholarship program student studying in the below course are eligible to apply for the scholarship Scheme:-

• Student of class 10th
• Student of Class 11th

• Students doing Under graduation (UG)

Eligibility Criteria of Nabanna Scholarship Program

To be eligible for the Nabanna scholarship student must fulfill the below criteria:-

• Residency -The applicant must be a permanent resident of West Bengal.

• Education – Students must be enrolled in a recognized institution within West Bengal and have passed their last qualifying exam from an accredited institution or the West Bengal University Council.

Marks Requirement

• For Higher Secondary (Class 12) students – A minimum of 50% to 60% in the matriculation (Class 10) exam is required.
• For Undergraduate (UG) students – An overall score of 50% to 60% in the Higher Secondary (Class 12) exam is needed.
• For Graduates – A cumulative GPA between 50% and 53% is required.

• Income Limit -The annual family income of applicant should not exceed INR 1.20 lakhs.

• No Double Benefits -Students must not be receiving any other scholarships to qualify for this one.

• Fill in Personal Detail– Provide your phone number, father’s name, birthdate, age, district, pin code, family income, email address, and other necessary details, then click “Submit.”
• Provide Educational Information -Enter details about your education, such as the name of your board or college, current course, results of the most recent qualifying exams (Class 10/12), total marks, and more.
• Bank Details – Input your bank’s name, account number, and IFSC code, then click “Submit.”
• Upload Required Documents – Upload copies of your admission receipt, income certificate, self-declaration, Class 10 admission card, and mark sheet.
