Counselling process plays a crucial role in getting a good college as well as if you don’t understand the complete counselling process it can also take you to a below-average college instead of securing well in the exam. So read the complete process very carefully, understand it well and work on it because it can provide you a chance to grab your dream college with your selected branch

There will be two separate unconnected phases of counselling for wbjee.

 Phase-1:

For WBJEE-2021 rank holders, for admission into all seats except for those in B. Arch.

Phase-2:

For both WBJEE and JEE MAIN rank holders for admission into B. Arch course.

Important points for Wbjee 2021 Counselling process

  • All the processes of counselling like registration, choice filling, allotment, payment of seat acceptance fee, provisional admission, etc. will be done through online mode only.
  • The counselling will be held only for the admission in the institutes and courses as mentioned in the approved seat matrix.
  • There will be three rounds of counselling :-

Registration will be allowed only at the beginning of 1stround.

  • Registration is compulsory for participating in counselling and admission, a non-registered candidate will not be allowed to participate in counselling in any round at any circumstances.
  • Wbjee registration fee for counselling is Rs 300 only.

Registration for wbjee 2021

  • During registration, you have to provide your personal details, academic details, bank account details (in case of any refund), address.
  • The candidate must provide his/her roll number and rank for WBJEE-2021.
  • Full marks and obtained marks in class-X English.
  • Full marks and obtained marks in aggregate in class-XII as per the mark sheet.
  • Full marks and obtained marks in Class-XII in  English, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and other relevant subjects. You can put your additional subject marks as the 6th subject.
  • No request for change in any category/sub-category will be entertained after the last date of registration.

Choice filling process of wbjee 2021

  • Once you complete the process of filling the academic score, the choice filling option of different institutes/courses will be opened according to the eligibility criteria and the detail filled by you.
  • After selecting institutes/courses, the candidate will arrange his/her choices in order of his/her priority.
  • Candidate can search their preferred college by institute wise, branch wise, etc.
  • TFW seats and Non TFW (tuition fee waiver) are shown as separate choices for every institute and every branch, wherever applicable. So if you want to add both choices to your list then you have to add both of them separately.
  • Be careful while selecting your choice. Select at least 20 choices, it will be better to select the maximum possible number of institutes/branches according to your preference and ensure that you can get an allotment, only then you can participate in the up-gradation process which is very important for getting a good college/branch better than previous one.

Choice locking wbjee 2021

  • Candidate must lock his/her choice within the due date then take the print out for future use.
  • If a candidate forgets to lock their choice then in such case their last saved choice will be taken as the final choice and will be locked.

ROUND 1 RESULT of wbjee 2021

  • Candidates must log in to check their allotment on the pre-scheduled date, there you can find the institute name and branch on which you are allotted a seat.
  • The candidate must pay the seat acceptance fee of Rs 5000 within the date and download the allotment letter for further use.
  • Candidate must visit the allotted institute for PI reporting along with allotment letter and document for verification.
  • If a candidate wishes to withdraw from e counselling they shouldn’t complete the PI reporting.

Document verification for wbjee 2021

  • Candidates must carry the printed copies of their allotment letters and all academic and other documents for physical verification of documents to the allotted institute within the due date.
  • Candidates must carry the following documents in original and one self-attested copy of each.

  •  If a candidate is found not eligible (in document verification) for any courses their allotment will be cancelled and they will not be allowed to participate in the further round.
  • If a candidate is allotted a reserved seat of their category and they are unable to produce a proper certificate then in this case allotment will be cancelled and such student  will be considered as a general candidate in the further round.

After all the document verification process candidate will be given their upgradation choice:-

  • If the candidate has been allotted a seat of his/her first choice, they have no other option but to freeze his/her seat. Such candidates will opt for up-gradation ( No and complete all admission formalities )(PI reporting) of the respective institute and collect signed Physical Reporting Receipt.
  • If the candidate has been allotted a seat of his/her second/later choice, he/she has two options either freeze seat and complete admission procedure or select for upgradation.
  • If a candidate is selected for upgradation in the above case such candidate will be considered for upgradation in the 2nd round.
  • If the candidate does not complete none of the above three options, he/she will be considered not interested in admission and will not be considered for any allotment in the future.
  • All the candidate who has been allotted a seat and wishes for an up-gradation can participate in the MOP -UP round at the end of counselling.

Round 2 Upgradation in wbjee 2021

Following groups of candidates who have already successfully registered in Round-1 will be considered in Round-2

  1. Those who did not get any allotment in Round-1
  2. Those who paid seat acceptance fee, completed document verification, and opted for up-gradation in Round-1
  3. Those whose allotment in Round-1 was cancelled due to non-acceptance of category certificate.
  • Round-2 being the last and final normal round, there is no scope of further upgradation.
  • It is essential to note that if the allotment is upgraded, the earlier allotment is cancelled. In short, upgradation can’t be reversed

Outcomes of round-2 allotment of wbjee 2021

The allotment is upgraded to the candidate’s 1st choice:-

  • Candidate must report to the newly allotted institute and complete all admission formalities (PI reporting) and collect signed Physical Reporting Receipt.

The allotment is upgraded but not to the 1st choice OR allotment not upgraded at all:-

  • Candidates may decide to join the institute of the last allotment and complete all admission formalities (PI reporting) and collect a signed Physical Reporting Receipt.

The candidate did not get any allotment in Round-1 and got a fresh allotment in Round-2

  • In this case, you have followed the same process as in round 1.
  • Pay seat acceptance fee
  • download allotment letter
  • Report to the allotted institute for physical verification of documents.

If the candidate does not report for document verification, he/she may only participate in the Mop-Up round, if any.

 

Mop-Up Round of wbjee 2021

  • It is an optional round.
  • Registration fee for Mop -Up round is Rs 200.
  • The participants in the Mop-Up round will be able to revise their choices of institutes/branches if they wish.
  • It is essential to note that if a candidate has been allotted a new seat in the mop-up round then this earlier seat will be cancelled and it will not be valid at all.
  • But in case a candidate doesn’t get any seat in the mop-up round then this present seat will remain valid if he/she had completed all necessary admission process and had obtained a Physical Reporting Receipt.

Eligibility criteria for Mop-up round for wbjee 2021

  1. Those who completed admission in Round-1.
  2.  Those who completed admission in Round-2.
  3.  Those who did not complete admission in Round-2.
  4.   Those whose category has been changed due to document verification in Round-2.
  5. Those who paid seat acceptance fee but failed to report for document verification in Round.
  6.  Those who did not get any allotment in Round-1  or Round-2.

There will be only one Mop-Up round and it will be the last and final round of counselling conducted by WBJEEB.

Mop-Up round process of wbjee 2021

Those who completed admission in Round-1 or in Round-2:-

  • If a candidate does not get any allotment in mop-round, they must continue with the previously allotted institute.
  • If a candidate gets a new allotment in the mop-up round, they must report to the newly allotted institute for admission procedure ( PI  reporting ) and collect a physical reporting receipt. Those who did not complete admission in Round-2 and Those whose category has been changed due to document verification in Round-2
  • If they get any allotment in the mop-up round then they must visit to the allotted institute for admission procedure (PI reporting) and collect a physical reporting receipt.
  • Those who paid seat acceptance fee but failed to report for document verification in Round-2
  • If they get any allotment in the mop-up round then they must visit to the allotted institute for admission procedure (PI reporting) and collect a physical reporting receipt.


Those who did not get any allotment in Round-1 or 2 but got an allotment in Mop-Up Round:

  • They must pay the seat acceptance fee, download the allotment letter and report to the allotted institute for document verification and admission procedure (PI reporting) .If the document is accepted completely the admission procedure and collect the physical reporting receipt.

Important points to be noted for the counselling of wbjee 2021

  • The seat acceptance fee paid by candidates who complete the admission process will be transferred to the respective institute after the closure of e-counselling. In case the candidate does not want to join or continue in the institute, he/she will have to apply to that institute for any refund.
  • Refund process of wbjee:-
  • If a candidate withdraws during the seat acceptance periods in round-1 or round-2 after paying the provisional admission fees, the amount will be automatically refunded to the candidate account after 60-90 days through online mode only after the closure of all the rounds of counselling.
  • If any candidate does not complete the admission process even after paying the seat acceptance fee, part of the fee is returnable as per the existing rule.

WHAT IS TFW SEATS?(Tuition Fee Waiver).

 
  • According to the TFW Scheme of AICTE, 5% of the approved seats have been reserved for admission through the WBJEE-2021 based on TFW Rank for various institutions.
  • TFW Seats has been offered only to those students who has a proper domicile certificate of West Bengal.

PwD (Persons with Disabilities) Seats for wbjee 2021

  • Reservation of seats for PwD candidates is available as per the relevant norms.
  • Availability of such reserved category seats shall be restricted to students domiciled in West Bengal only if you have a proper certificate issued by the government.

Reservation of Seats for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B category of students.

  • Availability of such reserved category seats shall be restricted to students domiciled in West Bengal only.
  • Candidates claiming such seats must submit a relevant Certificates.
  • Candidates having OBC certificates dated before 31.12.2009 should have them revalidated from the issuing authority, with either category OBC-A or OBC-B is to be clearly mentioned.

Domicile requirement for wbjee 2021

Candidate must be a domicile of West Bengal for admission to:-
  1. Any seat in any Government-aided Engineering / Technology / Pharmacy Colleges.
  2. 90% for general category seats in Jadavpur University.
  3. Any seat in Aliah University
  4. Any seat including general category seats in B. Tech. (Dairy Technology) in West Bengal University of Animal & Fishery Sciences
  5. Any reserved category seat (SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, PwD, TFW) in any course in any institute.

    As many as you want. Select maximum number of choices and at least 20.
  • How do I arrange choices?
    According to your preference. The best choice will be at the top. TFW seats are shown as separate choices for every institute and every branch. If you are ready to accept either TFW or Non-TFW seats, you must select both. If you select only Non-TFW seat, you will not be allotted any TFW seat even if available. Similarly, if you select only TFW seat, you will not be allotted any non-TFW seats even if available.
  •   How shall I know whether I have got a seat?
    Log in with your password on the day of allotment; you will find all details. Allotment days are given on the website
  • What do I do if I do not get a seat?
    Just wait. You may get a seat in the next round.
  • What do I do if I get an allotment?
    Pay seat acceptance fee, download, and print allotment letter, and report to the allotted institute for document verification.
